Today was Cassidy's last day of montessori school. She started in September 2008 and has grown so much since then. Her first teacher was Ms. Kathy. Ms. Rahmi toilet trained her and had so much patience. Cassidy was one of the first to attend her school and got to paint a tile that was mounted to the wall of the building (splotchy flower). The last picture is Cassidy at her desk in her classroom.
Next Tuesday starts a new adventure...Kindergarten at a new school! Sniff, Sniff, Sniff...she's growing up so fast!

We had a temporary internet outage today, so what's a girl to do without the internet??? Hair! Cassidy is obsessed with playing with my hair. This was today's creation (as photographed by Cassidy with my iPhone!) Her, ummmm, masterpiece!

day 239/365 rustic adventure...sort of
Today we had a play date with one of Cassidy's BFFs. We went to a new park with a really pretty pond and a cool play area. Here, the girls are playing "boat" -- they played for so long pretending they were rowing a boat in the middle of a river. I loved listening to them (but not being obvious about it) and hearing how far their imaginations took them.

We went to a tea party birthday party today with a special guest, Belle. The girls were THRILLED to see her and tell her all their stories and dreams. It was so sweet to see how excited they were. I like how Cassidy is checking out her dress.

Today was the last Friday at Cassidy's old school. She starts K at a new school after Labor Day. So I took her McDonald's for lunch. And I took my camera. These are the girls Cassidy is going to miss when she starts her new school and her new adventures. She has grown to love these girls. Weekend playdates are going to have to be a regular thing!

Cassidy started jazz class a few weeks ago. Like ballet, I think her favorite part is the outfit. She seems to really enjoy it so far. After class, she was be-bopping around and singing the songs.

day 233/365 oh happy day!
Look what I received today from the UPS man!!!!! Woo hoo!!!! Remember this? Well, I never did take it in for an estimate. Instead, I thought, "when life gives you lemons...make lemonade!" So I sold some stuff on eBay (a couple bags, including a hardly-ever-used LV), used some Amazon points from my Amazon credit card...and poof...new camera!! (If only other things were this easy!) Now, I'm going to take in my "back-up" camera (heeheehee) and see how much it's going to cost to fix it...part of me hopes it won't be $50...because that way the D7000 will be more "justified"...know what I mean?

We went to another birthday party to day for our friend, Kate, who turned 5. It was a pirate luau! Great party! They even had hula dancers who taught the kids how to move their hips. Cassidy loved it. She even showed the group her Pineapple Princess dance!

We went to a pump it up party today for a friend from school. It was pretty fun...I thought it would tire Cassidy out and she'd take a nap afterward...but no...she went strong all night long!

I took this picture yesterday at a "farm" party we attended. But I thought I'd share it today. I love this picture because Cassidy looks like she's contemplating great things...like how is she going to eat the cupcake without getting frosting all over her face. Or should I eat the polka dots before the rest of the frosting? Or maybe I should eat the bottom first and then the top (that's how I do it!) LOL!

day 219/365 my camera...sniff sniff
This is a picture of my poor camera. Fortunately, it still takes pictures...I just need to snap and then adjust the exposure because I can't see the metering lines (I think that's what they're called) when I look through the viewfinder. I'm going to try take it to the local camera shop, but I have a feeling it might take a while to get back. So I think I have to wait until after the first day of kindergarten because I can't miss taking pictures on that really really important day...but then I'm afraid I'll miss other important days while my camera is being repaired. Boo-hoo.

Cassidy found a new friend, a worm in an apple...
On a different note, I sadly dropped my camera yesterday. I cracked the casing by the pop up flash. It still takes pictures, but I can't see if the picture is properly exposed when looking through the viewfinder...bummed out big time. Hopefully it won't cost too much to fix or take too long.
