day 302/365 climbing trees
We went to the park today and met a bunch of Cassidy's friends from her old school. They had so much fun seeing each other and playing!

day 301/365 bella bear
Cassidy's homework for this week included making a bear. She was given a bear outline on a while piece of paper and parents were supposed to help them create a bear using any materials we had available. We took the bear to grandma's house and create this. Cassidy named it Bella Bear!

day 300/365 working at school
Cassidy is concentrating on her coloring. Today was the fall celebration. Each class rotated to another classroom and did a craft. They made ghost bracelets, hands filled with popcorn, necklaces, and bats out of black socks. So fun!

day 297/365 crazy hair day
It's crazy hair day today for red ribbon week (just say no to drugs!). This is all we could come up with. I wanted to put little buns all over her head, but she wanted ponytails and braids.

day 293/365 homework
As a kindergartner, Cassidy get homework every Friday and it is due the following Wednesday. She usually finishes it at the Y, where she goes after school. But today, she finished it at home!

day 292/365 ouch
I was rear-ended today. Fortunately, it wasn't bad. Very little damage and no injuries. Just a lot of headaches (not physical headaches, but mental) to deal with insurance and get it all fixed. At least no one was hurt.

day 289/365 pumpkin patch
Cassidy's class took a field trip to the pumpkin patch today. (The term "patch" is used loosely -- it was more of a bunch of pumpkins in a shopping center parking lot on some hay). I accompanied the class on the bus and it was my job to take pictures. Each kid got to choose a pumpkin. This is Cassidy with her pumpkin!

Saturdays are so busy for us. We have piano in the morning, errands, and then ice skating in the afternoon. This is Cassidy resting in between her activities...I think she stayed like this for only a minute...and then it was back to bouncing around and playing again.

day 286/365 rewards
To curtail Cassidy's behavior (think talking back, not listening, etc.) I bought these charts from Lakeshore along with some stickers. But we reversed the reward -- if she's bad, she gets a sticker. And if she gets a row of stickers, then we take something away (think, tv time, dessert, etc.) I know it's confusing...stickers usually = good. But so far it's worked! Only one sticker in a week. Not bad. And if she gets a row of no stickers for the week, then she gets a reward (think ice cream, cookie, etc.)

day 279/365 just relaxing after a long day at school
Today was the first time I volunteered in Cassidy's classroom. I had to play ABC bingo 10 times! Over and over again with different groups of kids. The sad thing was that some cards were missing so not every letter had a corresponding card. So some kids were never going to win. But they tried so hard and were so excited to play. I spent 2.5 hours in the classroom. And it was worth every minute. Cassidy loved that I was there and I loved seeing her in that environment. I hope to continue to volunteer every Friday. SOOOO worthwhile!

Steve Jobs died today and I think this is really sad. As my mom said, "it's like Einstein dying." I agree. He is our modern day genius. I wouldn't be able to get through my day without some contribution from Apple. From the minute I wake up to my alarm on my iPhone, to sitting at my Mac late at night editing pictures...I am an Apple girl through and through. He's a true genius and his innovation will be missed.

This is my new pan. It's a grill pan from scan pan and I think I'm in love! It's so great to grill chicken, steaks, veggies etc. on the stove in no time! And great clean up too!

Cassidy lost tooth #2 tonight...well, our friend, Mr. Matthew pulled it out for her (with her permission). It was hanging by a thread! And better to have it pulled at home then lose it at school. She's so excited for another visit from the tooth fairy. Let's hope she remembers!
