One of my favorite things about Cassidy's new school is that I can walk her to school. It's about a 10 minute walk...Just enough time to chat about the earthworms we see, why she goes to school in the morning and not at night, and the virtues of being a good friend. We philosophize about the books her teacher will read, why share day is not on a Monday, and why she needs a back pack when all she has in it is her lunch. Cassidy pretends she is walking to school alone, like a big girl. I pretend that I'm holding her hand so tight that she can't let go, even if she wants to.
